Classes Glass Glow Kilns
A lifelong commitment to strengthen the fused glass art community.

Glass Glow Kilns, a name that has become well known throughout the glass industry. Known for its well constructed, quality, fusing kiln.

Glass Glow Kilns come in a variety of sizes and a variety of computers.

The Glass Glow Fusing Kiln has been designed to the specifications of Northern California's foremost glass artist and founder Philip R. Teefy, to accommodate even the most complex situations with ease.

These kilns are designed for Kiln Forming, slumping, sagging, fusing and Paté de Verre.

These kilns have a maximum firing temperature of 1700º.

The Building

The side brick walls are hand beveled for dust free operation. The bricks soak up the heat during the firing process and releases the heat slowly and evenly after shut off to assure proper cooling. This added feature helps prevent cracking of the bricks. Also it reduces brick dusting on your work. This is a fabulous feature.

The Wall
A durable 20 gauge stainless steel body encases the exterior of each Glass Glow Kiln. Maximum firing temperature not to exceed 1700º

The Elements
4 - 8 elements on the top (depending on kiln)
1 - 2 elements on the side (depending on kiln), 2" off floor

This allows for three different styles of kiln forming.
  • Shelf 1 1/2" off floor, heats the glass on the sides first
  • Shelf 4" off the floor, it heats the glass evenly
  • Shelf 6" off the floor, the glass heats up in the middle first

The Stand
The kiln incorporates a built in safety stand. This stand comes with locking wheels.

A view from the outside/back. The Lid
The kilns are top loading with dual spring-loaded hinges. This allows for ease in opening and closing.

The Computer:
The Sentry controller has a 30 month warranty. Storage for one 20-segment and three 10-segement user programs in ramp-hold. Easy to read with simple keystrokes. New stop back feature, allows you to correct programming errors. New, add time key adds five minutes to the current hold.
