Description: |
This ancient practice from three thousand years ago is being revived in this class using techniques by the turn of the 19th century artist such as Galle and Rene Lalique. We will cover the progression from appropriate design for a 3-dimensional box, the lost wax technique used in the year 80 BC to build a perfume bottles such as the ones Cleopatra used, and a Pate de Verre bowl like that of Galle or Nancy.
Lecture on making a wax sculpture design, wax build up, mold investments and the use of powders and frits. |
